IPOMers! I have a wish for you all. I wish for you all that you may all explore and fulfill your purposes and potentials this new year. And if you don't know what your purpose or potentials are, well it's my wish that you will discover them and make progress towards fulfilling them. I also hope you all had a great Christmas. Mine was weird. I got to go to East L.A. a few days before it and see my grandma, which was wonderful. Then I spent from the 22nd to the 28th in Fresno with my aunt. It was nice too, but it was without my mom, and some of my relatives were bashing my mom in front of me, so I felt bad despite having a semi-nice Christmas. What are your New Year's resolutions? Mine is to lose 120 pounds and try and get more of my writing published. I invite you all to share your resolutions on our boards, or even if you want to come tell me I'm crazy for trying to lose all that weight in a year, that's fine too. I must say that I want there to be more in 2004. More joy, more knowledge, more of everything. Well, no more of the negative stuff, but you get the idea. I encourage you to post to the boards and tell us how you spent your Christmas and New Year's. Among the things I did for Christmas this year was see Return of the King, Ballet Folklorico de Mexico, and tasted Vietnamese food for the first time, in addition to Guatemalan tamales (mmm, so good). I learned how to bake cookies with just a little help from my cousin Alice. :) Anyway, I'm going to leave you to my lists. My mom's Uncle Benny died. Bad manic episode that almost put me in the hospital. GOOD EVENTS OF 2003 Became a member of my church My cousin entered rehab of her own will Went to Fresno and had all sorts of experiences I wouldn't have had otherwise Started reading books by Kay Jamison and John Grisham. Found new purpose in my life. Realized I really love my mom. |
