...From Anna

Hello my darling IPOMers and Metalliphiles! It's been months since my last letter, mainly because yours truly has been running around in circles mentally for months now. But enough about that! There's updates I can tell you about.

Yesterday I added four news stories to our Where Are They Now? section, two of them dealing with Jason, two of them dealing with Dave. And we have a new Met Mention. Check them out, ok?

Things are starting to pick up in Metallica world (which should translate into things picking up in IPOM world). An album is taking shape, we have a new little Hetfield brought into the world, to a evidently much healthier and happier dad, and perhaps now the tension within the band is such that it has been reduced to a point that Jason's successor will be happy. I was watching VH1 TV Moments' Hard Rock edition, and when it got to Metallica's performance of Fade to Black at the VH1 My Music Awards, and how prophetic it was for Jason's last one with the band, I admit it, I broke down and cried. But we all have to let go, and hopefully Jason will be happier with what he does in the future, and maybe, someday, when all sides have grown and matured from all this strife, Jason will play with the band once again, even if only briefly.

Speaking of that, :::::::gives James a gentle smack:::::: Stop bein' so fucking stubborn, James! Evidently in Dave's eyes, all that dysfunction between you two is water under the bridge, and he is ready to work with you and Lars again. Can you imagine how amazed and excited us fans would be if you went ahead with it and teamed up with Lars, Dave, and David Ellefson per Dave's suggestion??? I assure you we will all puddle in our pants! :P You and Dave seemed to have been really close those early years, and even now he speaks so kindly of you... "I still love James very much. I respect his ability as a player and I miss him. But there was a reason why it ended. A lot of it had to do with drugs and alcohol on my part. He never did drugs. A lot of it had to do with the fact I was a violent asshole. He wasn't. He was a very gentle person when we were together although he enjoyed listening to very violent music. We would drive 60 miles an hour up and down the Pacific Coast Highway in the fog, drunk and listening to Venom." Dave - November 1998

See??? Normally I fucking hate the concept of forgiveness, but this is one area I'd say, "Try it". Dave has said at the Megadeth.com boards that you've spoken to him on the phone. Good start, now just take it a little further! :)

Ok, now that I've actually gone as far to direct a whole section of my IPOM letter to James, knowing it won't get read, I'll just say a couple of other things then leave you to my vibe list.

Post to the IPOM boards, guys! We need your company! And if anyone's curious, I'm Blood Roses at the Metallica.com boards, and nativeinsanity at the Megadeth.com boards, look for me there, let me know yer an IPOMer, and I shall lavish an excited greeting upon you. ;)

For all the Megadeth fans...pick up the remaster of Killing Is My Buisness..., people! I'm going to have to do some wrangling to get mine. :|

And, last but at all least, Paul, (Baloff) rest in peace dude.
