Hey there IPOMers, This letter is late. Yeah, I know. I'm just late period. I'd been feeling so well, doing so good, so I just had to crash mentally, and I did. I'm ok, I just don't have a lot of energy right now. A lot of things happening in my world, but I'll start with the bad news first. I was taking World Religions at college until I was forced to drop the class because of a racist professor. He made the enviroment very difficult for learning. He said things about African-Americans, Native Americans, mixed race people, and so on. I think the only reason he said nothing about Latinos (for those who don't know, I'm Latina and Natifve American), is because they were too numerous, and someone might actually complain. So I dropped, but gradually I decided I couldn't take this lying down (I'm after all, an anti-racist activist...how could I?!) so next week I will be reporting him. Wish me luck. This is a campus made up of 90%+ of ethnic miniorities. Most of our professors come from a nearby city which is mostly white, and they are sometimes ill prepared for dealing with us. But that's no excuse. But in other, happier news, I'm starting a buisness! It's a distro for Chicana/Native American womanist goodies; zines, buttons, stickers, patches, books, etc. It can be found at http://www.mujerindigena.com ... If you're in America, 18 or older, and not registered to vote, what are you waiting for, do it, register! It might be too late to register for the election, but you can still try.
