Hey there IPOMers.... It has been a while since you last heard from me. I apologize. I have been very busy with school and activism. in addition to some personal crap we won't go into. Currently I am taking Religious Studies, and doing well. I currently have an A in the class. My last paper compared the views of sin & forgiveness in Hinduism vs. Christianity, and was very interesting to write. I have been working hard to match survivors & parents of survivors of child abuse to the proper resources they need. I am doing so much in this area, and it has picked up even more now because I participated in an audio documentary/fundraiser, and now suddenly more people are learning of my site and paying a visit / asking questions. So it is a lot of work, but so worth it! Umm, what else can I say about me and my life? Oh yeah, I am trying to fix up my room, and have no time for writing poetry and taking photos. I need to reinstall my camera and take it with me everywhere. My school days are very interesting.... Wednesday the 27th I had to wait 1 1/2 hours at the transit station while the bus drivers had lunch. I sat on the ground near the bathroom, and at first I read my mini Bible, and a woman waiting to catch a bus to the town she lived in, and asked me, (while, I might add, I was wearing a spoof of heavy metal t-shirts that had to do with the Bubonic Plague) "You're reading the Bible? Praise God!" Then we talked about the chapter I was reading (Galatians 5) and what churches we go to...it turns out my Pastor preached at her church as a visitor. After that, I pulled out my textbook and began reading the Taoism chapter for an upcoming lecture. A bus driver who's really friendly and always teases me, walked by and he said, "Homework huh? That'll teach you to do it at home!" Phew, and then after that, an Arab spotted me reading the textbook to interrupt and ask me to interpret his Medicare documents. That is the thing with this town. All your elders are not very educated (this guy only made it to 8th grade...but his English was good) and if you are a bright child, or are a college student, you're expected to translate, interpret, or fill out stuff. My textbook was the read flag. :) Not that I am complaining. Anyway, that's long enough, I will leave you to my vibe list. Anna |
