Hey there my lovely IPOM visitors... I hope you enjoyed October 31, whatever you did or didn't do. If you're like me, you technically don't celebrate Halloween because it's a pagan holiday. If you're pagan, then you're living it up. Whatever the case, I hope you enjoyed the day. As you may have noticed, IPOM was well, not ignored, just, put on hold by it's staff for quite a few months. Phil was on his trip, Dave had stuff to do, I was either busy or not in my right mind, Matt was enjoying being a newlywed, and Doug was busy probably as well. I'm not going to apologize because there's no reason for any of us to, but I DO want to assure you that now Phil is back, everything is picking up steam. Phil's review is up for your viewing pleasure, Phil and Dave worked hard searching through Lyric Theories and getting rid of the non-theories for you, and I translated the non-English thepries myself. Phil is now going through the FAQ to update it, I have done a lot of catch up on Met Mentions and Where Are They Now. Dave is always working behind the scenes, and Doug has his eye on the latest news. And if we needed graphic work, Matt would be hard at work. Instead you get his letter, and to be graced with his presence on the boards. What am I getting at? We are hard at work! :D I have noticed I did some non-intentional neglect of WATN. That's fixed. Many of you do not know this, but I made a promise to Phil 5 years ago, that I would get rid of anything that threatened my dedication. And while it seems like I've been distracted or slow to do something, I HAVE kept to that promise. If you read my letters you've heard of Wings of Hope, a club within a club that brightens the life of children. Well, I left it in October because it was taking all my time, including what is strictly IPOM time. So don't worry, I'm still on the job. :) If you're wondering what is going on in my life right now, I'll tell you. Not much. I've had to make some difficult changes in my life with people in my life who shouldn't be there anymore because I've been hurt one time too many. So that's over, the camel's back is broken. And unfortunately... I have to replace a mp3 player and 100 dollars worth of good CDs, but more importantly my mental health and peace. I took way too much crap from this person, and I'm glad to be free. You know that country song "Independence Day" by Martina McBride? Well, I'm not gonna go burn this guy's house down and him with it, (like in the song, all you strictly metalheads ;), but the spirit of freedom from abuse remains. And it's powerful. I'm trying to repair the relationships I damaged because I was in "lurve" and "needed no one else". *rolls eyes* Learn from my example guys and gals... I don't care how dreamy, kind and loving your partner may be, DON'T dump your friends. You never know when things could turn sour and you'll need them to save you, or you may need to save them. That's just how it goes. Anyway, on to more positive things. Turkey Day. I don't know if you celebrate it, but if you do, please enjoy it. I used to not really celebrate it, because as a Native American, who knows that in place of the pretty little story about the pilgrims and Indians, we have an Indian massacre in our history, that just made me angry. But as a Christian, I know realize there's one thing I can do. I don't have to celebrate the lie. But I can, and should, give thanks to God for everything because He loves it, and I'm willing to oblige. So have a great turkey day/thanksgiving! Instead of a vibe list, I will leave you to my list of what I'm thankful for. I challenge the rest of the IPOM staff and our precious visitors to share what they give thanks for on our boards. Try it! On to the list. Anna |
