... From Lana

This letter is gonna suck. You know why? 'cause I'm actually gonna write more than just a few sentences.

The new computer is still behaving. T3 didn't end up happening, but now I've gotten a new service anyway. It's a package thing, you get Time Warner digital cable for the tv, phone service, and 5mbit net connection with Roadrunner. So that's set up now and it's all working great. Watching things download at a couple hundred kb per sec makes me smile. It's truly a beautiful thing.

Aside from computer shit for once, I saw Gigantour on Sunday the 24th. Megadeth, Dream Theater, Fear Factory, Dillenger Escape Plan, Nevermore, Life of Agony, Symphony X, Dry Kill Logic, and Bobaflex. I only went to see Symphony X, Dream Theater, and Megadeth, didn't care much about the other bands. I met Russell Allen (Symphony X singer) and Michael Romeo (Symphony X guitarist) before the show, both were great guys. Symphony X, once again, put on an amazing show, even though it wasn't that long since they played on the second stage. But regardless, Symphony X remain kings, and I already can't wait til they come back and play again. Dream Theater were also, once again, very good. Finally gotta see them play Home which I was very happy about, also Honor Thy Father. And Megadeth were awesome. This was my first time seeing Megadeth, so I didn't really know what to expect. They put on a solid performance but my only complaint was that they weren't as crowd interactive as I'd wished them to be, 'cause that's one of the most important things to me at a concert. But being a longtime Megadeth fan, I thoroughly enjoyed myself anyway. I'm also seeing the show tomorrow (the 28th) in San Diego. No second stage for this show though, so that means no Symphony :( oh well...

Another music-related subject I'd like to briefly talk about is the new Opeth album. It's not released til August 30th, but I got an advanced copy of it through a friend. And man... this stuff is outstanding. It's one of the only things I've been listening to for the past two days. Anyways, I don't know what else to say about it except that if you like them even remotely, get this album when it comes out, it's really really good stuff (in my opinion, of course).

Well, I think I'm gonna end this one now before I scare anyone from writing this much.

Take care IPOMoids... til next time,
-Anal
