2010-05-24 Personal Tour Report v2 beta, Member Login [link]
When we launched the Personal Tour Report last year, we got great feedback! You all agreed it was a completely new concept - unlike any feature of a Metallica site before it. However, it wasn't without its faults, and we promised to follow up with improvements.
Today we have launched a new version. This new version looks pretty similar, but provides two key new features. With this launch is also a new Member section which we're beta-testing, and using to improve the Personal Tour Report experience.
IPOM server now stores the shows you've seen.
No longer do you need to be on the same computer to see your report! We now have a login system - login from anywhere to view or modify your account!
Permalinks for your report.
Share your tour report with the world - and all they need is your username! You can get anyone's report (who has chosen to make it public) by heading to the Personal Tour Report page and typing in their username! Even better, the links is always up-to-date with your copy!
Because we care about your privacy, you can set your tour report to private in the new Member Index.
We've also fixed every issue we know about, specifically:
- Songs played more than once in a show (this is rare, but happens), are now handled properly
- Links from someone else's tour report now work as expected (showing you their data instead of yours)
- Better tracking of songs from medleys
We've put the beta title on these two new sections because they are still a work in progress, but we were excited to get these features to you! We encourage you to let us know what you think in our Message Center.
