We got to the venue around 11:30am (we needed to be there around 12ish to do some work for the club... I planned a lil' extra time... oh well, at least we got good parking... for a whopping' $15!!!

So we do some work for the club, and eventually hit the floor... or rather the SNAKE PIT (that's right, they brought the snake pit back)!!! Many clubbers wanted to get Snake Pit passes with their pre-show passes, they didn't realize that the club wasn't really in charge of the snake pit... oh well. There were also a lot of people who showed up around 6ish wanting pre-show passes... haha, it was well over by then. A note for clubbers, be there before doors!!! As for the snake pit, first 100 people on the floor get passes...

So after running around a lot we finally find the entrance to the Snake Pit (we had to fight our way to the front of the floor to get in. But once we got in it was AMAZING!! Man, you had room, there wasn't pushing, or anything, and ya just enjoyed the show... AND you were RIGHT THERE in the middle of everything, it was totally amazing!!!

Who else was RIGHT there? Our friend Liz! Yeah... hold on, here comes 'Tall... well maybe not. 45 minutes after their scheduled 6:45 stage entrance they finally hit the stage. They seemed to have technical difficulties for about 20 minutes... then lights would go out, everyone would get excited... they'd come back on again... they were just messing with us. But eventually we heard the familiar tape of Ecstasy of Gold! Then the intro to Wherever I May Roam, and as the crowed went wild, they slowed... slowed... then just a chord... then THUD THUD THUD on the drums and DIE DIE DIE... Die, Die, My Darling was a GREAT opener!!! FULL ON POWER!!! Wow!

When they went into Puppets the crowed went wild... then they got to the 'middle' and I was waiting to see if it was gonna be the full version or the small version... and sound like full.... wait no, that's not the slow part to Puppets... its Sanitarium!!! A few verses of that and back to Puppets! It was a VERY cool mix! The Setlist was full of surprises including No Leaf Clover without the Orchestra (well, they played a tape of the Orchestra intro, but that's it)!! The song definitely holds its own!! They tweaked a few parts, but the song didn't change any... James' vocals rock!! Another highlight of James' vocals was Nothing Else Matters. The song included some KICK ASS surprises!! Definitely a super set!

The show ended with Phantom Lord, about 25 minutes after they were supposed to end... (perhaps they cut a song or two since they started 45 minutes after they were supposed to start?). The entire band seemed VERY into it... I haven't seen them that excited ever, with the exception of the Berkley shows. It was truly an amazing show, with lots of energy. The only thing was the crowd seemed not quite as loud as usual. It was a bit smaller than I expected... and James said that 'Miami kicked fuckin' ass' but I just didn't think the crowd was what it could have been. Oh well. So onto to the backstage area...

Jason came out as usual. Totally cool, even with flashes. Answered questions, just very happy to be there. I asked him about the 'Mission Impossible' theme song... first he corrected me... it's not the theme song, it's just another song on the soundtrack... Limp Bizkit did the theme. Then he went on the make a heavy metal sign with his hand and that evil face of his!! He likes it! I asked him if it would appear on the next album, and he said it depends on how it goes over in the movie, how much material they have, etc. etc..

So then it was over... but I (and my friend Josh) would like to send a SPECIAL thanks out to Eric, Toby, and Steve for everything! See ya in Detroit!
