Pecatallica!! Woohoo!!
Metallica rocked the tiny town on Pecatonica when some 40,000+ fans took over the town that normal holds about 1800! Comming from CA to see the show I got a nice taste of how Metallica rocks the east!

Showing up to the venue WAY early saved us some of the troule I have heard about (traffic keeping people from the show). We were THE first fans at the venue and quickly others followed. We stood on line for hours. Talking to people, TRYING to figure out where WillCall was so I could get my Tix. Mintues seemed like hours and hours seemed like days but after 6 hours of waiting outside we were let into the venue for 2 more hours of waiting. We managed to get into the little section designated for the first 500 people or so. We were given a wrist band and sat down front and center against the railing. After chit-chatting for a bit the show was ready to begin. DOTN came out and gave a good but not impressive show, playing all of their singles. (I got a pic from them at the end of their set) Jerry Cantrell came on about 10min later ( I was impressed with how quick of a set change they had!!) His set impressed me beyond belief. He played my favorite song off of his solo album, some Alice In Chains songs and even Pink Flyod's Brain Damage. I was really really impressed and look forward to seeing him again!

After about 45min of waiting the lights dimmed and slowly with rising volume and intensity Ectasy of Gold came blarring out of the speakers! Lars come out of start very aloof and sits and soon THUNDERING GUITARS!!! HELPLESS!! The show just took off from there, Fuel, Thingy, acoustic set, creeping. It was so excellent!

The boys seemed to be in TOP form. In the many times I have seen them they seemed to be having the most fun I have ever seen. Constantly commented on how great the crowd was. The next night the boys even commented on how it had been the best show thus far on a radio broadcast.

All in all a GREAT show, ranks up in the top 3 of my Metallica career! Only 5 more shows to go to!! Details on those to come......
